TEAM AND TALENT

Paulina Manrique (any pronouns) of mexico city

Composer and Music Supervisor Paulina Manrique, aka Pau Strange, was invited to the team in March 2021.

Pau is a Mexican nonbinary lesbian, musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and composer specialized in film and television score. Currently residing in Mexico City, they graduated from Núcleo Integral de Composición (NICO) with a degree in Music for Film, TV, and Theatre. They have worked in the music department of several films and TV series, including Netflix's The Three Deaths of Marisela Escobedo and The Search as well as various indie short films like Días Pequeños and ADA Office.

Titus Byron (they/them) of PORTLAND, OREGON

Animator Titus Byron was invited to the team in January 2021 to bring life to the history presented by this film.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Titus is a motion graphics artist and animator with a breadth of experience in illustration and art direction. Most of Titus' inspiration comes from light, color, and the motion they see on their day-to-day travels. Nothing makes Titus happier than studying and applying that knowledge to their work. When Titus isn't creating, you can find them skating, chillin with their cat, eating snacks, and adventuring around the Pacific Northwest.

Bren Coombs (they/them) of CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Producer Bren Coombs joined the team in late 2019 after finding Rachel on Twitter and offering their services.

Since forming Rad Bren Productions in 2011, Bren has produced several award-winning stage productions and musicals, an LGBTQ documentary film (Out in Alabama), two radio shows, multiple web series, and numerous events, including cast-attended fan events for South of Nowhere and All My Children. In addition to their experience in marketing, production, and fundraising, Bren is also currently the Prop Designer for the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

Erika Lygren (she/her) of Albuquerque, NEW MEXICO

Editor and Associate Producer Erika Lygren joined the team after crossing paths with Rachel and Margot in 2018.

Erika is a queer video editor passionate about strengthening the LGBTQ+ filmmaking community. She filmed and edited a 2nd place award-winning documentary in the Freedom & Unity TV Youth Film Competition two years before acquiring her B.A. from Bennington College in 2016. Erika also co-edited  Our Trails Too, which received the first annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant presented by the OregonMade Creative Foundation, Oregon Film, and Travel Oregon.

Margot van der Bie (she/her) OF PORTLAND, OREGON

Producer and Narrator Margot van der Bie has been with the team ever since the project found its start in late 2016.

Margot first met Rachel in Chico, California after interning at the Gender & Sexuality Equity Center on CSU, Chico's campus. Margot worked as the center's queer program coordinator and graduated in 2017 after studying women's studies and comparative religion. She went on to work as a domestic and sexual violence advocate before making a career transition to the legal field. Margot currently works with a boutique law firm helping the LGBTQ+ community create and protect their families.

RACHEL VAN DER BIE (SHE/HER) OF PORTLAND, OREGON

Director and Executive Producer Rachel van der Bie (née Ward) was first inspired to create this film in 2016.

Originally from a small town in northern California, Rachel graduated from CSU, Chico with degrees in women’s studies and business administration after working at the on-campus Gender & Sexuality Equity Center for four years. Her passion for social justice, creativity, and personal relationship to queer media are reflected in her efforts to produce Love Me Bait Me. This project has inspired Rachel's own interest in creative writing, which she explores in between fantasizing and conspiring meaningful ways to bring humanity together.
